When Alvin Straight, a stubborn, physically-ailing 73yr old, learns that his brother whom he hasn’t met in 10 years has had a stroke, he becomes determined to make peace. Due to poor eyesight and bad legs, Alvin doesn’t have a drivers license, so he packs up and heads off from Iowa to Wisconsin on his old riding lawn mower.
