Lynch moved from Philadeplphia to L.A. in 1970 to attend the American Film Institute and never left. His home for over 50 years\, L.A. plays a leading role in many of Lynch’s films. The film’s namesake\, Mulholland Drive is itself a famous road twisting through the Santa Monica hills\, offering unparalleled views of Los Angeles\, including the Hollywood sign. The history of Hollywood’s is nothing if not a universe of dreams-come-true and\, even more-so\, dreams that died.
